Absolutely, positively, YES. Please "return" it to normal behavior.
- Setup of the screen is something that everyone will want to experiment with, and to have to start from scratch every time in the simulator makes that kind of useless.
- Further, once you have a setup done, you will surely want the simulator to popup the SAME way that you have it configured in the plane!
You could always add an external "reset" button outside of the simulator, for the sales folks. I presume you just need to clean up some registry data.
