Looks like this is already available -
1. On FMS page, touch Wpt you want to know direct info for.
2. Touch Direct button - only once, not twice (don't activate).
3. Continuously changing Distance & Bearing Direct to Wpt is shown as you move along your flight plan.
Did this on the sim - works great.
